My First Julep Maven Box!

Super EXCITED... My first Julep Maven Box Came in today! This was the cute little bag the items came in, I love the little red bow, nice touch.

These were the items I received for my first month as a Julep Maven. When I filled out the personality/style survey I was an "American Beauty".

They showed these really pretty purple colors and I was excited about the choices they picked out for me. When the polish came in the mail they sent me 2 colors that I wouldn't have personally chosen for myself, and they weren't the colors they advertised on the site. I only paid 1 penny for the first month, so I'm only mildly disappointed, but if you go sign up and pay normal price I just wanted you aware you might not get the colors they tell you they are sending. =/

Aside from that Snafu, the packaging is very chic. I love the rectangle bottles, and the company design/logo. I have not tried the polish so I can't yet speak for the formulation. Kind of underwhelmed at the amount of polish you receive, .27 fl oz for $19.99 a month. Even for 2 colors.... that's almost 10$ a bottle!
This is their polish in Gwen, I did not receive this color, but it can be purchased in their store for $14.00. I just used this picture to show you the pretty bottle design!

They also sent out a hand scrub, which I have not tried, but I did sniff it and it appears to be scentless, so if that is important to you that is something to keep in mind :) They also sent a little container of silver glitter.

So overall.. I think the Julep Maven Subscription is meh. 3/5 stars if I had to give it a rating. I don't think value for product is very balanced. Unless they send something much more impressive for the second box, I will just save my pennies and go grab a couple Essie polishes for the cost of this subscription. Their packaging is very chic, and hip, but I would rather more product/quality over a cute bottle.

John Freida's Foaming Hair Colour in 4R- My Experience

Hi Beautifuls! I just dyed my hair with John Frieda's Foaming Colour Hair Dye, and I just wanted to share my experience with you all. (To sum it up quickly I love it.)  Previously when I've dyed my hair with other brands in the past I've needed 2 boxes in order to cover my whole head. With this one box is MORE then enough. My hair is down to the middle of my back so I have a decent amount of locks :)
This was my hair before dying it with the 4R. Medium-Dark brown, very blah.
Opening up the Dye Kit this is everything it comes with, in addition to the instruction book, but It fell on the floor as I was taking the picture, hehe. (:
I wanted to share this, and if you've ever used the drug store hair dye kits you know they come with the cheap-o clear gloves that no matter what you do one of the fingers has a hole in it and dyes your finger! Well these gloves are the heavy duty salon grade gloves. I LOVE THEM! Not even a tiny little speck of dye anywhere. They are also super comfortable and didn't leave my fingers sweaty. Bonus!
So to mix the dye, you tip it on it's side and just rock the bottle back and forth gently. DO NOT SHAKE IT! If you shake the bottle you can ruin the foam and that wouldn't be good!
This is what the formula looks like when you go to apply it. I was kinda leery about it when I first attempted this, it looks more like a foaming face wash, but it does work! Give it a chance :)
Apply it to your whole head and wait 20 minutes to be sure the color gets in there good.
When you are done, rinse as usual, wait until the water runs clean, then generously apply the conditioner to your whole head. I normally shave and stuff now to give the conditioner a few minutes to really get into your hair follicles and re-hydrate your locks! Then obviously rinse the conditioner out and voila! :)
This was my hair, before styling, or applying any products, and after using the John Freida 4R Hair Dye. I was pretty happy with the color! Hopefully the red lasts for a bit, I have a really hard time getting red to stay in my hair. But I will be sure to let you ladies know how it worked for me! :) Anyone else try the John Freida at home Hair dye kit?? What do you think?

I got Pearly White Teeth, Papa-Paparazzi, and 2 weeks sober. If you are into glitter polish you are gonna totally love these. Spoiled is put out by Wet N Wild and they only cost $1.99 per bottle!! The style of the bottle and the price reminds me a lot of Sinful Colors, and I love those too! I can't wait to try them and I WILL do a review as soon as I paint my nails. Probably tonight! :)
I got 3 of these Lipsticks by Revlon. I got one in 096 Petal and 2 in 002 Icy Nude. Only 2 are pictured because the second tube of Icy Nude I got is for my giveaway I'm going to be having real soon, and I obviously wanna leave that one sealed and not open it!
