It has been far too long since I've done a review post I can
not wait to share what I got today!!! Influenster's 2012 Beauty Bloggers Voxbox
came in the mail and it's packed with goodies I'm dying to try!!! I know I've
posted the following about who Influenster is from their site and the why they
send products out free for people to sample and review, but it has been a while
so I'm just gonna refresh all our minds on their awesomeness!
What Is Influenster????
An exclusive online community where tastemakers and
trendsetters (such as yourself) come to share the latest and greatest news,
places, products, and reviews with each other. Basically, Influenster is a
place for culture junkies to come together and share their unique opinions of
products and experiences. Active members of Influenster get exclusive access to
deals, promotions, and swag from brands that thrive off the input (the good,
the bad, and the ugly -- they just want to know what's up).
So now we got THAT out of the way, lets look at the awesome swag
that came in this Years Influenster Beauty Blogger Voxbox! This is just the
unboxing, I am not doing full reveiws in this post until I really get a chance
to try out the products, so enjoy!!!
First Up, we have an Eyeshadow Palette from NYC New York Color,
Individual Eyes in 938 Union
Square Created for Brown Eyes. Can you guess what
color eyes I have? :) I have one of these Eye Shadow Palettes in 0156-86 Dark
Shadows and that is my current FAVORITE palette to do smokey eyes so I can not
wait to try this one out! It comes with 4 Shadow Colors, A highlighter, An all
over lid color, and 2 darker color options for your Crease/Contour Colors. The
perfect combination of colors to intensify and enhance your eye color. Can't
wait to try the darker plum color! On top of the 4 Shadows it also includes a
Primer Base and an Illuminator! Retail Price for this product is a steal at
$4.99!
Next, We have a Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit and the one
I received is #05. They are nice and full lashes 100% Human Hair so they should
last longer then the synthetic ones. Kiss claims that the glue that comes in
the kit is latex free (suitable for contact lens wearers) and has a 24-hour
hold! I can NOT wait to put these to the test! The lash kit also comes with a
Lash Applicator that is shaped to help apply the lashes more easily along your
natural lash line, which I find intriguing seeings how I normally use tweezers
and it takes me forever to get them lined up right where I want them! Or I end
up poking my eyes out trying to put pressure on the lash until the glue dries.
haha! They have a demo on their lashes at www.kissusa.com for those that are
interested. These Starter Kits Retail for $5.99.
Now this item is the first thing I noticed when opening my
Voxbox, the smell that permeated out was so yummy! A Pumpkin Cupcake Mini
Candle from from Bath & Body Works!! You gotta get yourself one! :) The
candle may be mini at 1.3oz's, but it packs a really strong punch to the nose
(of the scented variety)! I don't know yet how well it burns, but after I try
it out I will let you know! Try these candles out at Bath & Body Works for
only $3.50 a piece! Did I mention how yummy the Pumpkin Cupcake scented one
is??
I am pretty excited to try these out, to be honest I have
never really used any of these gimmicky hair products before. I normally grab a
hair elastic and some clips or a headband, but I like the idea they have going
here. This is Goody's Simple Styles Spin Pin for Dark Hair. From what I am
guessing these are used in place of Elastics to create easy updo styles. We
will see just how easy they are to use later! The sample style they have on the
back of the box is 3 easy steps. 1. Gather your hair at the nape of your neck
(no ponytail holder needed) 2. Twist your hair into a tight bun and tuck in the
ends 3. Spin one pin in from the top and the other up from the base, taking
care not to interlock pins. Ta da! Should have a simple easy chic look. Sounds
easy enough.. I have confidence I can do it... maybe. LOL. The box states it comes
with 3 easy to do looks, so if at first you don't succeed try and try again!
This product retails for $7.29 in stores.
For the last item, people received one of the two products
to try out: Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves Curl Defining Hair Cream or Not Your
Mother's Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream. I was lucky enough to score the
Frizz Control Hair Cream! Esp with winter fast approaching I need all the frizz
control help I can get! This sample came in a generous 1.5fl oz (the perfect
size to keep in my purse for emergencies!). Smooth moves fights out of control
hair and reduces styling time with coconut and silk extracts. Application: Wash and Towel Dry hair.
Apply a Small amount in palms and work into your hair. Distribute evenly with a
comb then blow-dry or air dry to reveal straight, frizz free hair with superior
shine. In my case I'm going to try to use this product in really small amounts
to try and tame my mane on the go if I run into trouble, hoping it won't be
greasy if applied to already dry hair. We shall see! :) This item retails for
$6.00 for a full sized 4-oz Bottle! I have Not Your Mother's Hair Spray and I
absolutely love it, it is definitely my "go to" hairspray so I have
high hopes for this brand and this product!
In each and every Voxbox is a card giving a brief
description of each item that should be included in your Voxbox. There is a
product listed that I did not receive so I don't have any pictures to include or
any kind of opinion on the product, but I will include the write up they had on
the card. "EBOOST: will boost your mood, focus, and immunity with natural
ingredients and no crash. As a shot or an easy-to-mix powder in four flavors,
you'll feel great whether you choose orange, pink lemonade, acai pomegranate,
or super berry. $28 for a box of 20 effervescent powders, $39 for a box of 12
shots." I don't know whether this
item was unavailable when they packed my box, or they just forgot it or what,
but I would be interested to see if anyone else got in their box and what they
thought of it!
There were also 2 bonus items based on Influenster Scores
and Demographic Information for Select Members, but I was unfortunately not one
of the lucky few to try out:
Vitabath Fragrance Mist: "Vitabath presents a new line
of lightweight fragrance mists in 16 fabulous scents."
And
Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin: "Keep your skin looking and
feeling beautiful with Boots No. 7 Beautiful Hypo-allergenic System."
I am so lucky to be apart of this amazing program, and I
send a big thanks to Influenster for
sending these products out free to try, and an even bigger shout out to the
brands that make this whole program possible! As always, receiving these items
free in NO way will influence or sway my opinions on the products, I like to keep
it real and let you know how I'm really feeling! Hope you enjoyed the unboxing,
and if there are any products your interested in hearing more about check back
soon for my in depth reviews!
XOXO
